€240,000 for Cork retail unit
ONE OF the best located retail buildings on Patrick Street in Cork has come on the letting market through agents Jones Lang La Salle. It is seeking offers over €40,000 per annum for the 333.78sq m (3,647sq ft) four-storey corner building occupied by Spectra Photo which includes 95sq m (1,023sq ft) on the ground floor. A new 20-year lease is available with five-yearly rent reviews.
Finance firms on Dawson St
THREE financial organisations have taken three-year leases of office space in the former Royal Sun Alliance building at 13/17 Dawson Street, Dublin 2. Centaur Fund Services and Conning Asset Management have moved into suites of 265 and 300sq m (2,846 and 3,229sq ft) on the third floor; Allied Risk management has rented 265sq m (2,846sq ft) on the second floor. All three firms will be paying rents in the region of €269 per sq m (€25 per sq ft). BNP Paribas Real Estate and CBRE are currently marketing the remaining spaces .
DTZ man’s new consultancy
AFTER 21 years in the property industry, Sean ONeill, up to recently head of investment at DTZ Sherry FitzGerald, is setting up a property consultancy firm in Dublin. ONeill says that in todays economic environment bespoke advice was what was required. As a property investment manager he has been involved in some of the largest investment deals in the market, including the sale by Tesco of its north Dublin distribution centre, the Wilton Shoppping Centre in Cork. He also advised AIB on the sale and leaseback of 25 bank branches. www.stoneill.ie
