CBT, the Dublin-based computer software company, reported record financial results last night, with profits for 1996 soaring 130 per cent to $13.1 million (£8 million). The company said its revenue for the year jumped 65 per cent to $66.3 million.
The company, which is quoted on the Nasdaq market, also announced that it has signed a $ million, three-year contract with Tandem Computers to provide interactive education software for employees
For the last three months of 1996, CBT reported a 61 per cent growth in revenue to $21.7 million, compared with $13.5 million in the same quarter of 1995. Net income for the quarter was $5.2 million, up 93 per cent on the $2.7 million reported for the 1995 quarter.
"At year end, CBTs library of interactive education software numbered 320 titles. This represents an increase of 99 per cent over the 165 titles we had at the end of last year," said the company's chairman, Mr Bill McCabe.
"The market is growing at 30 per cent per annum, and we're growing at over 60 per cent, so we believe we're taking market share from everybody out there," he added.
