Krispy Kreme is to expand its presence in Dublin with the opening of a new outlet in Swords.

The doughnut maker has enjoyed huge success locally since it opened a store in Blanchardstown centre, which became the company’s best performer worldwide performer in its first year of operation.

The Blanchardstown store, which opened on September 26th, 2018, saw huge queues, leading to revenues of €3.86 million for its first 15 months in operation.

The new store is to be located in the Swords Pavilions shopping centre and is due to open this winter.

Krispy Kreme is also due to open the doors on an outlet at Central Plaza on Dame Street, although no opening date has yet been announced. It is set to occupy one of the highest-profile units at the former Central Bank headquarters following completion of its redevelopment by Hines and the Peterson Group.

Krispy Kreme began selling doughnuts in 1937 and now has over 1,000 stores worldwide.
