Acorn Life, the life assurance company, was formally initiated by the Taoiseach, Mr Ahern, in Galway, yesterday. The Irish-owned company, with assets worth £100 million (€127 million), was known as NZI Life up to 1998 when management bought out General Accident's majority shareholding.
