The US-owned company, B/E Aerospace, has announced a £2.2 million expansion to its factory in Kilkeel, Co Down, where it employs 373 people in the manufacture of aircraft seating.

B/E Aerospace was formerly known as Aircraft Furnishing until taken over in 1993. It forms part of the Seating Products Group, an operating division of the Florida company, B/E Aerospace Inc. B/E designs and manufactures seating for commercial and general aircraft. Its customers include British Airways, Cathay Pacific and KLM.
