How has the decision to close schools affected you?

Reader callout: We would like to hear about your experience over the past couple of days

Storm Barra has brought widespread disruption to the country with some regions particularly badly affected. At the time of writing, almost 60,000 homes are without power and many are subject to “boil water” notices due to the effects of the weather.

Schools have also been closed for a couple of days in orange weather warning areas. The advice for schools in Dublin to remain shut came late on Tuesday evening, leaving many parents with little opportunity to make childcare arrangements.

In some areas, conditions were clearly dangerous for children but the justification for shutting schools in other areas has been less clearcut.

What’s your view? Do you agree with the decision to close schools over Storm Barra? How has it affected you? Please share your views and experiences with us.
