A 16-year-old footballer from Cork has been banned from the game for 10 years following an incident in a Munster Senior League match between Castleview and Ballincollig during the week prior to Christmas.

Castleview's Carl Humphries, a son of the former Cork Hibernians and Waterford player of the same name, received the suspension at a recent meeting of the Munster FA management committee, which considered the incident that prompted the game's referee to abandon the contest just a minute short of the final whistle.

A Garda inquiry into the incident has since been completed and a file sent to the Director of Public Prosecutions.

The following players have received one match bans at this week's meeting of the FAI Disciplinary Commission: Trevor Molloy (St Patrick's Athletic), Darragh Sheridan and Eric Lavine (both Galway United), Robert McAuley and Eamonn McLoughlin (both UCD), Greg O'Halloran (Cork City), Ross Britton (Drogheda Utd), Colin Fortune (Athlone Town). The suspensions come into effect on Tuesday March 21st.
