CONDITIONS were hardly perfect for yesterday's second round Leinster schools' Junior Cup tie between Wesley and Templeogue College played at Templeville Road during snow blizzards and strong winds.

Having won the toss, Wesley elected to play into the wind and fell behind to a Mark Fallon try after five minutes, the Templeogue centre weaving his way under the posts with full back, Mark Carroll converting.

Sadly that was as far it went for Templeogue, who then spent the rest of the game fending off a resilient and resourceful Wesley pack.

Wesley scrum half, Alan Pearson Matthews began the rout and six further tries followed from Kevin Corrigan (2), Barry Moore, Alan Cuppage, Craig Petrie and their captain, Sam Dawson, with full back, Andrew Copeland adding an additional six points from three conversions.
