CHAMPION jockey Charlie Swan, who returned to action on Wednesday evening after a four week lay off, got back to winning ways on the concluding day of the Bellewstown festival last evening when partnering Red Glitter to win the Sam Dennigan and Company Maiden Hurdle.

Trained by 24 year old John Quinn in Ballymoney, Co Antrim, the 5 to 1 chance was prominent throughout until Swan went on before the penultimate flight to run out the six lengths winner from Classic Silk.

Seamus Heffernan continued his winner a day strike rate at the Co Meath venue with a two lengths success on the Aidan O'Brien trained Bold and Gorgeous, who edged clear of the top weight and favourite Life Support one and a half furlongs out to win the featured Heineken Handicap.

Easiest winner of the evening was the Paddy Mullins trained Notcomplainingbut who made virtually all to win the Derek Plant Farm Machinery Handicap. The 6-4 favourite drew steadily clear of the chasing pack before the two marker and had the race sewn up at the furlong pole.
