RACING: Del Mar Sunset has an excellent chance of landing a hat-trick with victory in the Storm Personnel Handicap at Sandown Park today.

William Haggas's charge heads into the competitive mile handicap following wins at Haydock and Brighton, and he looks well up to continuing his hot streak.

The six-year-old has taken a long while to find top gear but he hasn't looked back since getting off the mark on grass at the 21st attempt at Haydock last month, when scoring over today's distance.

He followed up that effort when again coming late to score at Brighton, shrugging off a 4lb rise in the weights with consummate ease.

Del Mar Sunset has gone up another 6lb following his victory at the seaside track, but if he turns out in similar mood at the Esher venue, it will take a good one to prevent him landing his third win on the bounce.

The in-form Macvel can also make it three in a row by taking the City & Suburban Nursery.

The speedy juvenile has barely put a foot wrong since leaving a disappointing debut effort behind, finishing runner-up at Haydock and Lingfield before scoring twice.

The first of those wins came at the latter venue, where she justified her position as the 6 to 5 market leader.

She then moved on to score as impressively at Windsor.

Michael Blanshard's charge takes a slight jump in class today but looks more than capable of rising to the challenge and will surely win more races.

Jeanmaire is a filly on the up and she can land the European Breeders Fund Combermere Fillies' Conditions Stakes at Chester.

Hughie Morrison's juvenile looked as green as grass on her debut when coming home third in a six-furlong Windsor maiden last month.

A huge run can't have been expected that day given she was sent off a 33 to 1 chance, but connections must have been more hopeful when she returned to race over the same course and distance at the beginning of this month.

With a run under her belt, the daughter of Dansili looked much more the finished article and went on to see off a smart filly of Michael Stoute's, who holds an entry in the Group One Fillies' Mile.

Stoute's charge was the only one who could get near Jeanmaire, who had ploughed a lone furrow down the centre of the course on quicker ground, with the pair pulling six lengths clear of the third horse home.

The form has been given a boost with the subsequent victory of the fifth, and Jeanmaire looks one to bank on.

Babe Maccool is worth a look in the Blue Square Handicap.

He flopped at Goodwood last time out but that run is probably best forgotten as he was hampered two furlongs out and lost all chance thereafter.

A tough sort, he had previously looked progressive with wins at Leicester and Newmarket, stepping up successfully to today's 10-furlong trip for the first time at Headquarters on his penultimate start.

He arguably had a bit in hand that day and could still be reasonably treated off a 3lb higher mark over a trip at which he is still unexposed.
