St Patrick's Athletic have lost their appeal against a financial sanction placed on them by the FAI's Club Licensing Committee.

Last week the committee awarded 22 eircom League of Ireland clubs their licences ahead of the 2008 season, but St. Pat's license was subject to the club submitting further information.

Although at the time the FAI confirmed the issue was simply down to a late processing matter a financial sanction was also imposed on the club.

All 12 Premier Division clubs, plus three from the First Division, received Premier Division licences. The remaining seven clubs in the First Division, including Sporting Fingal, were awarded licences for that division.

The FAI Club Licensing Committee awarded "A" Championship licences last November to the new clubs that will be joining the eircom League of Ireland this season.

The appeal by St Pat's was the only one lodged.
