Champions League:Robbie Keane scored his first goal for Liverpool and Steven Gerrard claimed his 100th to give the Anfield side a comfortable 3-1 Champions League victory over PSV Eindhoven tonight.

Dirk Kuyt opened the scoring after four minutes before Keane struck his first goal in nine starts for Liverpool by converting a Fernando Torres cross in the 34th.

Gerrard blasted home from a second half free-kick to net his landmark 100th goal and give manager Rafa Benitez victory in his 250th game in charge of the Reds.

The Liverpool manager will be upset at the manner substitute Danny Koevermans was allowed to get between sleeping defenders to score a consolation goal quickly after Gerrard's 76th minute strike.

Former Tottenham Hotspur striker Keane, who joined Liverpool in July, had caused growing concern at his failure to find the net.

But the Republic of Ireland captain showed confident poise to guide Torres' cross past Andreas Isaksson in the PSV goal after the Sweden keeper should have dealt better with Kuyt's early goal.

The Ivory Coast striker was injured early in the second half after colliding awkwardly with a Cluj defender as he slid in to try and convert a left-wing cross from Florent Malouda.

Few scoring chances were created although Chelsea substitute Nicolas Anelka had a 78th-minute goal ruled out for offside and Eugen Trica hit the outside of the post with a long-range effort for Cluj two minutes later.

Chelsea, last season's runners-up, and Cluj share top spot in Group A with four points from two matches.
