Sunderland manager Roy Keane and his Wolves counterpart Mick McCarthy have made up their differences after their World Cup meltdown in 2002.
McCarthy was responsible for sending his then captain Keane home from Saipan after a bitter row prior to the World Cup finals in Japan and South Korea.
However, McCarthy has said he made contact with Keane after the Cork man's appointment at the Stadium of Light and they have since buried the hatchet.
McCarthy told Wolves' official website: "I wanted to enquire about a couple of players and I always believe that you should speak to the manager direct. It's been four years now and it should be put to bed. Life goes on. The only two people who weren't getting anything out of it were me and Roy.
"It's the media that drives it on and we've both got difficult enough jobs without others putting spanners in it."
Wolves, who face Sunderland at Molineux on November 24th, could soon have Black Cats defender Neill Collins in their line-up.
