Holland sweat on Van der Vaart injury

Rafael van der Vaart has given Holland a fresh injury scare after hurting the same ankle he thought had healed.

The 23-year-old Hamburg midfielder was forced to leave training yesterday after being struck by a ball.

He already sat out Holland's weekend friendly with Cameron as a precaution after undergoing an operation to remove a screw from the joint.

"The new injury is on a different spot," said head coach Marco van Basten. "It is clear though that the joint is not comfortable yet. It is good he stopped the training immediately. We must now wait and see how serious it is."
