Soccer:Monaghan United will have a chance to exact revenge for last season's EA Sports Cup when they take on defending champions Sligo Rovers in the fourth round of the FAI Cup.
This evening's draw threw up some intriguing ties, but just two Premier Division contests, with Shamrock Rovers awaiting the visit of UCD and a Louth derby between Drogheda United and Dundalk on the cards.
Sheriff YC, the only non-league side left in the competition, will host a local derby with Shelbourne FC, though they may seek to switch the venue to Tolka Park to maximise revenue.
Sheriff boss Paul Ussher said: “It’s a great draw to look forward to for the start of our season in August. A few of our guys have played for Shelbourne when they were younger so they’ll be looking forward to it.”
Bohemians will travel to Flancare Park to face Longford Town and Bray Wanderers will welcome Limerick FC.
Wexford Youths and Waterford United are both at home against Limerick FC and St Patrick’s Athletic respectively.
All ties will be played on the weekend of August 26th.
