Screamer looks the bet

If ever a horse was well named for a handicap it looks to be The Screamer in the last at Ballinrobe this evening

If ever a horse was well named for a handicap it looks to be The Screamer in the last at Ballinrobe this evening. The Michael Hourigan-trained mare goes in the second division of the two-mile handicap off a mark of 33 which she picked up for three runs in maidens between May and July of 2002.

The Screamer looks an entirely different proposition now and won over hurdles at Down Royal on Friday. That added to a victory at Limerick and in between only her jumping let her down when beaten at Wexford.

If she looks the bet of the evening in the last then there might be an opportunity in the first race also as Erra Go On tries to follow up a Naas success in the six furlong handicap. This one is 8lbs higher for a length defeat of String Serenade but still looks a better proposition than either Shadow Jumper or the course winner, Antigone.

The form of Cils' last run at Naas was boosted by Floscula at Gowran on Sunday while Sauterelle can pick up her second claimer in five days for Enda Kelly.
