THE OLDEST national sponsorship in Irish sport will be renewed today with the announcement that Nestle are again to back the Irish Schools' provincial and All Ireland championships.

This is the 35th year of a scheme which has assisted significantly in the development of many Irish international athletes. In the coming year, the company will also be involved in the presentation of the schools' international meeting at Santry on July 19th.

It was confirmed yesterday that Michael Hunt, from the Senior College in Rathmines, will succeed the long serving Darcy Chillingworth of Belfast, as president of the Irish Schools Athletics Association.

Chillingworth, an enduring personality in schools athletics, has been named as one of six vice presidents of the association. The others are Fr Peter Gilfedder (Munster), Padraig Griffin (Connacht), Bill Hyland (Nestle), Fr B King (Leinster) and Robert Stevenson (Ulster).
