DIGEST:Australian winger Wendell Sailor has withdrawn his appeal against a two-year doping ban from the Court of Administration for Sport in Australia, his lawyers said yesterday.

The 32-year-old Sailor was suspended by the Australian Rugby Union (ARU) in July when it was revealed he tested positive for cocaine after playing for the NSW Waratahs in a Super 14 match against the Brumbies in April.

"I have decided to withdraw my appeal in the Court of Arbitration of Sport against the two-year ban imposed on me by the ARU anti-doping tribunal," said Sailor. "I cannot stress enough that I did not and would never have attempted to cheat in sport through any means."
