All Black centre Aaron Mauger is to fly home from the tour of Europe after tearing the lateral cartilage in his knee, the New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU) said today.
The 26-year-old damaged his right knee during the victory over
England earlier in the month and reaggravated the problem in
training in Paris last week.
The All Black, who earned his 38th cap in the 41-20 victory
at Twickenham, will fly home tomorrow before being assessed for
surgery which could rule him out for between four and six weeks,
the NZRU said.
New Zealand, who play their final test of the year against
Wales in Cardiff on Sunday, will not call up a replacement.
