Munster 18 Glasgow 21: Anthony Foley, playing in his 201st and probable final provincial appearance, may have lost none of his competitive edge but the Munster stalwart was unable to prevent his side slipping to a disappointing defeat this evening.

Foley did manage to mark his home farewell with one last try, crashing over from close range having been fed by Peter Stringer.

That score looked like dragging his side back into the contest after the home side had fallen 14-0 behind, not least when Ronan O'Gara then landed two penalties to reduce the arrears to just one point.

But the home side slipped further behind after the break, Con Evans adding to Lome Fa'atau and Dougie Hall's first-half efforts.

And despite a late rally, which saw Paul O'Connell cross for a second Munster try, the Heineken Cup finalists were unable to give both Foley and Declan Kidney, overseeing his final home game before taking up his role with Ireland, a winning send off.
