WOMEN'S HOCKEY:RAILWAY UNION will attempt to defend their national indoor title at the basketball arena in Tallaght this weekend, the club one of six to make it through to the finals from last month's qualification stage of the competition.

Glenanne and Trinity complete the line-up in Group Two, with Armagh, Galway and Old Alexandra contesting Group One, the top two in each going through to Sunday’s semi-finals. The final takes place at 4.15.

The top two in the Leinster first division, Loreto and Hermes, have taken advantage of a quiet outdoor weekend to reschedule their postponed division one fixture for tomorrow.

Loreto moved above Hermes in to first after their ninth successive league victory of the season against Corinthian earlier in the week, and are now a point clear with a game in hand.
