Singles, foursomes or team, par, strokes or stableford, there's just no stopping Castle member Maria Beaton who has hit form like never before in the last fortnight.

Her purple patch began exactly two weeks ago with a Class 1 victory in a regular singles competition where she returned 5 up off 16. The following Saturday, the timesheet was packed for an 18-hole Invitation Mixed Foursomes and Maria partnered Barry McDonald to victory with 39 points.

Twenty four hours later she was back in the winners circle when she teamed up with Ken O'Neill, Bernard Cullen and Kitty Gleeson to win the club's annual Charity Mixed Scramble with 45 points.

By the time the Ladies staged their only Hamper of the year last Tuesday, there was a certain inevitability about the outcome, but nobody could have predicted a winning score of 61 nett. Beaton carded three birdies and seven pars in a brilliant round that saw her handicap drop four shots to 12.
