With almost 1,000 players listed it's got to be one of the best websites for players' nicknames around. Yep, soccernicknames.com (http:// home.wanadoo.nl/ejgvanloon/index2.htm) is so good it's almost as memorable as its web address.

If you've got time to kill, and the guy who puts this stuff up there for the rest of us to read clearly has too much, then you too can discover what the likes of Alex Ferguson (Fergie) and Steve Clarke (Clarkey) are called by those who feel they know them well enough.

Amongst the less riveting Irish entries are Graham Kavanagh (Kav), Dean Kiely (Deano) and Roy Keane (Keano).

For some reason, though, the first three Irish players all have cartoon links and actually include decent ones with Terry Conroy (for obvious reasons) known as TC, Richard Dunne called the Honey Monster and Stephen Carr no doubt revelling in being referred to as Barney Rubble.
