Jamie Osborne says he has been cleared by the Crown Prosecution Service over race-fixing allegations.

Speaking at Warwick yesterday, Osborne said: "My lawyer, Stephen Barker, got a letter this morning from Detective Inspector Gary Southgate, the new head of the Organised Crime Squad, and he (the lawyer) then rang me.

"Mr Southgate acknowledged in the letter that there was no substance to the article in the Mail on Saturday and that there never was a new inquiry and that the cassettes they were talking about, which are being studied at the moment, are not related to any case concerning me. They did seize cassettes but they are part of another case."

Osborne (31), along with fellow jockeys Dean Gallagher and Leighton Aspell, was arrested on January 27th by the Metropolitan Police. They were released on police bail and not charged.
