Team news: Cork football manager Billy Morgan has recalled Micheál O'Sullivan after an absence of a year

Team news: Cork football manager Billy Morgan has recalled Micheál O'Sullivan after an absence of a year. O'Sullivan, who played in the 1999 All-Ireland final, comes in at centrefield in place of Nicholas Murphy in a team that shows four changes from the side beaten by Kerry last week.

"He has been playing very well with his club," said Morgan, "and we wanted to have a look at him at this level again."

Regular goalkeeper Kevin O'Dwyer is abroad and so misses the visit of National League Division One A leaders Mayo to Páirc Uí Rinn on Saturday evening. Kevin Murphy replaces him. Anthony Lynch moves from corner back to centre back with Noel O'Leary dropping back to the corner and Owen Sexton moving to the wing.

In attack James O'Shea and debutant Conor Brosnan come in at corner forward with Bernie Collins and Pádraig Griffin, red carded against Kerry, making way. The three players injured in the first match of the league, Philip Clifford, Derek Kavanagh and Maurice McCarthy, are still unavailable although Morgan hopes to give McCarthy a run at some stage this weekend.

Sligo's Gerry McGowan will be out of action for at least six or seven weeks after breaking his collar-bone against Laois last weekend. McGowan has broken his collar-bone on a number of previous occasions.

McGowan's loss has been cushioned somewhat with the news Kieran Quinn returns from a spell in Australia this weekend. Dara McGarty is also due back from Australia in early March.

Manager James Kearins will not name his team to play Galway at Markievicz Park on Sunday until later in the week. Right half back Padraig Doohan is still receiving treatment for a leg injury but he is expected to be fit.

Wexford, who defeated Meath on Sunday, will be without midfielder Willie Carley for up to six weeks after he fractured his jaw in an accidental clash with Meath defender Darren Fay.

Manager Pat Roe, however, has centre back David Murphy available for Sunday's clash against Limerick, at the Gaelic Grounds, having missed last weekend's game through suspension.

Limerick's John Galvin and Michael Reidy have resumed light training following injury but neither are likely to start on Sunday. Reidy has seen little action since the Munster final defeat by Kerry because of ligament trouble, and Galvin has not played since the All-Ireland qualifiers.

John Quane, introduced as substitute in their win over Cavan last Sunday, is likely to start in midfield. The Limerick team will be selected after training today.
