Tries in either half from Ronan O'Mahony and Sean Henry proved crucial at Donnybrook yesterday, as Munster A held off a late fightback from Leinster A to record an 18-12 victory in a lively Interprovincial A challenge. Munster A had chosen an experienced line-up for this encounter, as Felix Jones, Johne Murphy and the veteran Peter Stringer all took their place in the Red Army's defence, and they took a deserved lead on 12 minutes, when winger O'Mahony crossed over on the left-hand side for an unconverted try following good work towards the line by hooker Henry.

Munster A were able to hold out for a hard-earned success, in spite of a late push by the Leinster men.
