PHILIP MULRYNE has become the latest player to roll off the Old Trafford youth production line onto, the international stage after his call up for Northern Ireland's friendly against Germany at Windsor Park on May 29th.
The 18-year-old, Belfast-born winger, who helped Manchester United to the Pontins League this season, is one of two youngsters named in Bryan Hamilton's 22-man the other is Hull's goalkeeper, Roy Carroll.
Philip is an exceptionally talented young player, he has impressed me in his youth and `B' games for Northern Ireland," Hamilton said.
"Now it's time to give him that first experience of what life is like in the senior squad.
"I know that Alex Ferguson has a high opinion of Philip as well and I certainly think he'll develop into a top player.
"And Roy has also done well by getting into Hull's team and holding his place. He's another with a bright future."
Neither teenager is likely to play against the Germans, who are basing themselves in the North for 10 days in their build up for the European Championships, but have been picked to gain international squad experience.
