Cricket: The North County all-rounder John Mooney will captain the Ireland A squad in their matches against the English Club Cricket Conference at Malahide on Wednesday, August 6th, and at Milverton on Thursday, August 7th. The only other full international in the side is Ryan Haire (North Down), who won five caps in 2000.

Meanwhile, Ireland's squad for the Women's World Cup qualifying tournament in Holland next week will be captained by Clare Shillington of Malahide, while Miriam Grealey of YMCA has been nominated vice-captain. Ireland's opening match will be against the West Indies next Monday, July 21st. The other competing nations are Holland, Scotland, Japan and Pakistan.

Leinster won the Durham Under-13 Festival over the weekend. Having defeated Holland and Dragon School Oxford and drawn with Durham School, Leinster beat Colet Court Kent by 73 runs in the final.
