WITH just three weeks to the tee off at Druids Glen, Bernhard Langer has finally confirmed his participation in the Murphy's Irish Open.
Langer, a three time winner of the event, will seek to regain a title he last held in 1994 when the £750,000 tournament takes place on July 4th-7th.
The 39 year old German - who won the Smurfit European Open at The K Club on his last competitive visit to Ireland last October - had deferred a decision on playing until he "reviewed" his schedule for the season.
Frank Nobilo, winner of the Deutsche Bank TPC Open two weeks ago. Australian Robert Allenby, who secured his second Europe an Tour win with last week's English Open, and Sandy Lyle, the former British Open and US Masters champion, also confirmed their entries yesterday. Ian Woosnam, defending champion Sam Torrance and Europe's Ryder Cup captain Seve Ballesteros are also certain starters.
