KERRY: The Kerry County Board chairman Sean Walsh told delegates at this month's board meeting that he expected Kerry to play at least two National League games under floodlights at the Austin Stack Park.

The matter was raised when county board officials had expressed disappointment that the Laune Rangers v Dr Crokes championship quarter-final had not gone ahead on Sunday night at 7 p.m., with the clubs not agreeing to play the game under lights.

"We will definitely be looking at playing a National League game under lights. We were hoping to play one last year against Antrim, but forces came against us.

"Antrim were looking forward to playing under the lights, but matters came against us. We would be hoping to play one or more of this year's games under lights," said Walsh.

Walsh also told delegates that the present senior football management team under Páidí Ó Sé will remain on as they are in the middle of a two-year term. Jack O'Connor and his under-21 football management team will also serve out the second year of a two-year term.

SLIGO: Coolera are hoping that three of their footballers based overseas will be available for Saturday's Sligo senior championship replay at Mackievicz Park.

Full forward James Joyce returned to Washington after last Sunday's draw against Eastern Harps while Stephen Carthy, who works in Romania, and Cardiff-based Tony Watters are hopeful of returning for the replay. Con O'Meara sustained a knee injury in the drawn game and is a doubtful starter. Eastern Harps centre half back and County player Brendan Phillips is nursing a hip injury.

LIMERICK: The Limerick County Board has been fined €2,500 for infringements during the All-Ireland under-21 hurling final win over Galway in Thurles.

Members of the team management made incursions on to the pitch during the game and the substitutes had a puckabout during the interval. It was also claimed by the GAA that several of the Limerick players disobeyed guidelines by having their socks down.
