Sporting Fingal 2 Bray Wanderers 2:JAKE KELLY scored twice for the second successive match to lift Bray Wanderers off the foot of the table for the first time since the opening week. Alan Kirby gave Sporting the lead after two minutes after a flowing move on the right. Gary O'Neill fed Ronan Finn, whose cross was dummied by Eamon Zayed for Kirby.
Bray levelled in the 21st minute but would have equalised earlier only for a brave save by goalkeeper Darren Quigley at the feet of Gary Shaw. But Quigley was at fault as he allowed Kelly’s shot on the turn from the edge of the area squirm past him and into the net.
Quigley made amends with a tip-over save from full back Dave Webster’s 40-yard free kick just past the half hour. Quigley was helpless to prevent Bray taking the lead on 34 minutes, though, when Sporting failed to defend Webster’s long throw. Gary Dempsey’s shot ricocheted into the path of Kelly who blasted to the net for his 13th league goal of the season.
Sporting stormed back in the second half with Matt Gregg saving well from Gary O’Neill before Derek Prendergast blocked Zayed’s shot. But Zayed levelled on 59 minutes when tapping home after Conan Byrne had shot against a post.
