Quarter-final News: An angry Scotland camp are bristling with indignation at Eddie Jones's accusation they would be prepared to use violence to beat Australia in tomorrow's World Cup quarter-final.

Jones recalled the infamous "Battle of Ballymore" in 1989 when Ian McGeechan's Lions used physical intimidation to overcome the Wallabies in the second Test which paved the way for their ultimate series victory.

The Aussie coach claimed McGeechan would be prepared to use similar tactics at Suncorp Stadium this weekend as he searched for a way to bridge the gulf in class between the sides.

The allegation has startled McGeechan and his players. "He must have been watching our training sessions and seen we have ditched scrums and lineouts and have just been kicking and punching each other," said Australian-born lock Nathan Hines, the only Scottish international to be sent off in a Test match.

McGeechan preferred to view the outburst as Jones's attempts to influence referee Steve Walsh.

"Eddie likes to talk to referees in different ways," he said. "Unless I have missed something in the past 14 years, it has never been my style to send teams out to play in that way."

Scotland show one change from the team which scraped past Fiji last Saturday, with Jason White recalled to the back row in place of axed Ross Beattie. Scott Murray comes onto the replacements' bench.

Meanwhile, Wales coach Steve Hansen has delayed naming his team for Sunday's quarter-final against England until the last possible moment.
