John Hartnett, the former Cork hurling star, has been setting records since turning to golf. The midfield star with Midleton when they won four Cork county titles, two Munster club titles and one All-Ireland club title, has reduced his handicap from 14.3 to 2.9 in just three years. Hartnett, who is a regular on the scratch cup scene, has had five top-three finishes this year at Lee Valley, Bantry Bay, Fota Island, Waterford and Barna.
