Galway's half backs will swing it

Under-21 Hurling All-Ireland semi-final/Cork v Galway:Cork stole past Tipperary in the Munster semi-final, had a comfortable win over Waterford in the final and boast a number of senior players. Eoin Cadogan already has an under-21 All-Ireland with the footballers and is joined by senior hurling regulars Patrick Cronin and Shane O'Neill, with Cathal Naughton also in attack.

Although Galway are packing a fair bit of senior fire power themselves much interest focuses on the one player who famously isn't a senior, Joe Canning, on his first championship outing of the year.

Happy with recent challenges against the Waterford intermediates, in their own All-Ireland final this weekend, and Munster club champions Toomevara, Galway point out they survived the lack of competitive build-up when the counties played at minor. Andy Carey misses out at centrefield because of injury. Galway have the wherewithal at half back, with seniors John Lee and Ger Mahon on board, to build a winning platform.
