Galway eased into a semi-final meeting with Roscommon when they overwhelmed Leitrim at Pairc Sean MhicDiarmada, Carrick-on-Shannon on Saturday.
Leitrim matched the visitors point for point in the early stages but a goal after 11 minutes from Michael Meehan steadied Galway who opened up a gap of 1-7 to 0-4 at the interval.
Leitrim's hopes of a second half revival were quickly dashed by a flurry of Galway scores on the resumption. A superlative scoring display from full-forwards Meehan, Cormac Bane and Emmet Killeen stretched Galway's lead. A second Galway goal from Cormac Bane 12 minutes into the half ended the game as a contest.
