Antrim 1-16 Waterford 3-8: Antrim's first senior football encounter with Waterford ended with a two-point victory for the Ulster side at Walsh Park yesterday.
The win leaves Antrim with two wins from three league games this season while Waterford remain pointless and rooted to the foot of the Division Two B table.
Antrim were very much on top earlier on with Peter McCann and Kevin Madden in sparkling form up front.
Although they shot some wonderful points and Kevin Brady found the net for them after 25 minutes, Waterford kept in touch with three goals.
The first came from Liam Ó Lonáin, who was injured as he blasted home after eight minutes and had to go off. Pat Fitzgerald scored the others on 19 and 29 minutes.
It was 1-10 to 3-1 at the interval and Waterford proceeded to play much better in the second period. They drew level three times before actually taking the lead with a Niall Curran point 10 minutes from time.
That was as good as it got for them, however, and three more Antrim points, two of them Madden frees, clinched the win although the Northerners had Darren O'Hare sent off just before the end.
