Cork City 0 Drogheda United 1: Drogheda United committed an outrageous piece of larceny by taking three points from Turner's Cross last night.
Comprehensively outplayed and down to 10 men for the last quarter, Drogheda took all the points with a 68th-minute penalty scored by full back Damien Lynch after Declan O'Brien was brought down by Cork goalkeeper Michael Devine.
Cork have much to feel aggrieved about following last night's game but will have to take the blame for not converting their obvious superiority into goals as Drogheda left Cork a happy team.
Cork did have the ball in the back of the net three minutes into injury time, but George O'Callaghan's celebrations were cut short as the goal was ruled out for offside.
CORK CITY: Devine, Murphy, Bennett, Murray, Horgan, Woods, O'Brien, O'Callaghan, Carney, Behan, Doyle. Subs: O'Flynn for Behan (59 mins), Fenn for Horgan (85 mins), O'Halloran for Woods (65 mins).
DROGHEDA UNITED: Connor, Lynch, Webb, Grey, Whelan, Garthland, Robinson, Ristila, O'Brien, Rooney, Reilly. Subs: Sanduliet for Reilly (37 mins), Tyrrell for Rooney (75 mins), Freeman for O'Brien (87 mins).

Dublin City skipper Trevor Vaughan will miss tomorrow's clash against Cobh Ramblers at Richmond Park as he recovers from concussion suffered in the draw away to Limerick last week.
Vaughan leveled the match in the 67th minute but was knocked unconscious in the process following a collision with home goalkeeper Noel Mooney.
Vaughan was removed to Limerick hospital on a stretcher and manger Dermot Keely has stated that he won't risk the player against the men from St Colman's.
