Barry Doyle is facing a very busy schedule in 1999. A member of the Leinster Branch GUI for a number of years, Barry was elected president of Carlow Golf Club, who are celebrating their centenary this year, and also takes over as honorary secretary of the Leinster Branch from Albert Lee, who takes on the position of chairman.

Meanwhile, Wexford GC have rewarded their star lady player, Elaine Dowdall, with honorary life membership in recognition of her outstanding achievements.
