Women's Hockey/ Weekend round-up: Two Zanya Dahl goals from penalty corners in the opening 14 minutes at Beaufort helped Old Alexandra to a 2-1 win over Loreto, a rare league defeat for the champions.

Jessica Lynch pulled a goal back for the home side, who were without goalkeeper Louisa Healy and Ireland forward Cathy McKean, but Alexandra, for whom Shauna Frey in goal and Kerry Hiles shone, held on.

Pembroke Wanderers and Railway Union shared the points at Serpentine Avenue, where Susan Ryan gave Pembroke the lead early in the second half before Sinéad Dooley secured a point for Railway with an equaliser soon after.

Kristen Farrell was among the goals yet again for Hermes, scoring one in each half in their 2-0 win away to Trinity, while Three Rock and UCD picked up their first points of the season with wins over Clontarf and Corinthian, respectively.
