Peter Niven, the leading jockey at Catterick over the last five seasons, reigned supreme there yesterday when completing a 107 to 1 four-timer on Committed Schedule, Billsbrook, and the Mary Reveley-trained pair, Superpride and Flying North.
Billsbrook survived an untidy jump at the final fence of the November Handicap Chase to beat Gold Pigeon by five lengths. Flying North was soon in front in the Halifax Novices' Hurdle and the four-year-old ran on strongly to win by eight lengths.
Niven and Reveley had previously landed the Leeds Handicap Hurdle with Superpride, the 2 to 1 favourite, who gained a pillar-to-post victory by one and a quarter lengths from House of Dreams.
Committed Schedule, who initiated the Niven four-timer, prevailed by two and a half lengths from the 11 to 8 favourite Dorlin Castle.
