University Limerick 0-14 Cork IT 1-8: UL PRODUCED a devastating final-quarter surge to qualify for the Waterford Crystal Cup semi-final at Newtownshandrum yesterday. Brian Carroll inspired the comeback, scoring five of his nine points in the closing 15 minutes to turn a four-point deficit into a winning margin of three.

CIT led 0-6 to 0-5 at the break, all of their points coming from frees by Ryan Clifford. A penalty from Clifford inside two minutes of the second half gave his side a four-point cushion, but they couldn't pull further away as UL to stayed in touch.
