Sir, – In "Mark Zuckerberg would be better paying taxes" (Opinion & Analysis, December 3rd), John McManus makes some solid points.
For me, however, the fact remains that Facebook did not break the law in minimising its tax liabilities, unlike a “fraternity” that recently brought this country to its knees.
As for the “would-be tax” that arguably may have been owed to governments, I have yet to observe any government that does business for its citizens with the creativity, proficiency and effectiveness of Mr Zuckerberg’s company, thus I’m content to trust his choices in the distribution of his wealth. – Yours, etc,
