Sir, – Reading Dominic Gallagher's heartfelt plea (Letters, October 23rd) made me laugh.
It caused me to remember that, quite a number of years ago, my husband and a friend of mine having a “discussion” about CIÉ’s inability, at times, to prevent the train from Rosslare-Waterford departing, even as the ferry from Fishguard tied up at the pier.
The company’s names may have changed, but obviously, nothing else has. – Yours, etc,
