Sir, – We are repeatedly told by lockdown advocates that continued restrictions are a necessary evil in the interests of “public health”. This is based on a flawed assumption that Covid is public health. The truth is that Covid does not have a monopoly on public health. Other health conditions like depression, suicide, cancer and the screenings needed to prevent it have all been de-prioritised as a result of this Government’s continued obsessive myopia. The price to be paid is not purely financial, “public health” at large has also been jeopardised.
