Wearing masks on public transport

Sir, – A University College London study commissioned by Transport for London showed that London bus drivers had three times the death rate from Covid-19 than the national average for other occupations.

Figures previously released by the Office for National Statistics in the UK showed that bus drivers in the UK were among workers with higher rates of death from Covid-19.

Masks mainly reduce the spread of mini-droplets in patients with Covid-19 to others.

The benefit of masks is mainly the protection of others, though they also have a beneficial value for the user.

In my opinion, maintaining masks for public transport and for workers in crowded work environments should remain while the pandemic is still active. – Yours, etc,
