Madam, – There has been much debate about the Government’s lack of leadership in the current financial crisis and on ways it could stimulate the economy. Other countries seem to have a clear plan of action but we are still looking for ideas to be put into the suggestion box.

Comparisons with the new US administration may be unfair (as it has been in less than two weeks!) but there is one simple idea our Government could take from Barack Obama. This is his promise to publish on the internet how US tax dollars are being spent as part of the country’s recovery plan: www.recovery.gov.

Maybe, if we as taxpayers could log in and see where the Government was actually spending our money, it might instill some hope for a recovery. – Yours, etc,
