Madam, – It was with some bemusement that I observed in last Saturday’s “What’s Hot” column a claim implying that Leinster were the only Irish province left in the Heineken Cup, even though Ulster were playing the following day in a Heineken Cup quarter final.
While I understand the readership of your paper naturally leads to rugby coverage being focused on Leinster and Munster’s fortunes, I think to ignore Ulster rugby’s very existence is a little sloppy. Perhaps Leinster fans on your writing staff are becoming a little presumptuous, which bodes well for Leinster v Ulster today? Standing up for the Ulstermen. – Yours, etc,
