Sir, - I can't believe they missed it. RTE decide to broadcast live the illumination of the burial chamber at Newgrange. They get a wonderful, clear morning. We witness the build-up as the sunlight inches up the passageway. Before the big moment arrives we are treated to an interview by Brian Dobbs - and then we see everyone coming out saying how wonderful it was. What is it with RTE and their obsession with interviews about how wonderful something is in preference to the real thing - when they have cameras in place that could show the real thing? "Did you hear the one about the Irish television station. . ?" I hate to admit it, but sometimes we deserve them. - Yours, etc.,
