The Irish water shortage

Madam, - Given our abundance of water, why is it so hard to find Irish bottled water in the corner shop?

My campaign to encourage the shops near my workplace to stock Irish water has failed miserably. For some strange reason they wish only to stock water which is either produced or bottled by foreign multinationals. And it is not that our own bottled water is of an inferior quality: one in particular, Tipperary Water, has won several international awards.

Moreover the private shops operating in the educational institution where I work stock only water which is bottled by Coca-Cola.

When I queried this, the Manager informed me that as Coca-Cola provided the fridges, the shops preferred to stock only water bottled by that company. On a recent trip to Croatia, the only bottled water I encountered was Croatian. Why can it not be the same here in Ireland?
