Sir, - Having returned home to "Dirty Dublin" after a period of months spent in south west Germany, I am reminded of one of the many, valuable lessons learnt there and can identify with Roisin Ingle's article (April 12th).
Within a couple of days of taking up my post, the six year old girl, who was in my care, commented to me and subsequently rapped my knuckle n the fact that, when brushing my teeth or in the kitchen, I quite freely, no qualms, would let the taps run. She questioned me on this action and from that day on, I became more conscious and diligent when turning that tap, or any tap, on.
Surely, this altitude instilled in the abuse of this resource must be addressed. - Yours, etc.,
